ANIMAL FOOD BANK Ambassadors Recruitment Campaign
A starvation-free future for stray dogs and cats? Sounds like a noble plan! This is the dream of a group of passionate animal lovers who recently launched Animal Food Bank (AFB). AFB is a charity programme that aims to help animal rescuers and shelters feed the unwanted animals under their care. This bank, quite unlike the others, stores up pet food and distributes them to the needy ones for free!
Food, known as the one of the most basic survival needs of life, is often taken for granted by many. Many of us are spoilt with the luxury of choice to choose where and what we want to eat. But, as we bask in such luxury, animal rescuers and shelters struggle to make ends meet by ensuring that they have enough to fill the stomach of the strays under their care, so that the poor little ones don’t go through another chilly night in starvation.
It takes a standard noodle bowl full of kibbles or rice, once a day, to keep a stray animal from hunger. We are talking about feeding not just one, but ten, twenty, sometimes hundreds or thousands of them, seven days a week. This is not only a lot of hard work; it is also a heavy burden of monetary commitment.
At Animal Food Bank, its main objectives are to help lessen the burden of these animal rescuers and shelters, and in time to come, have ample supply of food to create a starvation-free haven for the strays in the country. AFB relies solely on pet food sponsors and donations from the public, and all donations collected are used to purchase pet foods in bulk from suppliers. The food are then stored in AFB and distributed to participating animal rescuers and shelters.
AFB started its operation since January 2018, and has so far donated 500 packs of pet food to various animal rescuers and NGOs. Animal rescuers and shelters are screened through thoroughly via a list of criteria before they are accepted as a beneficiary of AFB.
Realizing our achievement is far from our goal, AFB has launched an AFB Ambassadors Recruitment Campaign. This campaign aims to garner support from well known figures and celebrities to join us as AFB ambassador, representing AFB in a series of campaigns to spread and educate the importance of caring for the less fortunate animals in the country.

Very Important Pet Magazine was established in 2016 by a group of passionate animal lovers. They came together and decided that Malaysia need a truly pet’s person’s magazine! The first issue was launched on November 2016. Today, Very Important Pet Magazine has more than 10,000 printed copies distributed monthly for free at various pet events and pet stores.

『宠物粮库基金会』简单来说好比一间专作慈善活动的‘银行’，分别是，这间‘银行’不收钞票，只储存动物粮食。成立『宠物粮库基金会』的目的只有一个，就是帮助被大多数人忽略的弱势动物群，如流浪猫/狗、被无良饲主所遗弃的宠物、提供它们最基本的需求-粮食。
『宠物粮库基金会』所存有的粮食，主要源自于宠物食品批发商、宠物业业主、和一些慈悲为怀的宠物爱好者；”提款人”则是动物拯救团体，和一些与协助遗弃动物有关联的非政府组织。他们的存在，对于需要协助的弱势动物群犹如人间天使。
这项公益项目是Very Important Pet杂志全力支持的慈善计划。我们意识到单靠一方的能力是非常有限的。如要真正帮助到更多的弱势动物，我们需要号召更多的力量加入我们。所以，我们推出了慈善大使计划。我们希望可以邀请怜爱弱势动物的知名人士与艺人朋友可以加入我们慈善大使的行列，一起联手，协助推动计划，号召各界人士多加爱惜和关注这些弱势动物群，好让‘银行’能有更丰厚的存粮，供应给有需要的团体。
